About Chaka
The Programa Chaka has as its fundamental objective the integral educational support to children and young people, The Programa Chaka has been working since 2009 in the Shuar Kumpas Community, in which it has been appreciated that with a small support to these children, and young people there are satisfactory results. The result achieved in these years is to see how the youth of the Kumpas Community is 90% integrated into the school system, this was not the case in 2008, that only 10 to 15% of the young people studied.
The Programa Chaka educationally supports children and young people; the purpose is to support with all the supplies and school needs (tasks directed food, uniforms, school supplies, etc.) for a full development in the classes within the school. Directed tasks are carried out, achieving that the students fulfill their tasks in their great majority, providing food to have a good development during the student day, perform social events and work with the Parents of the Family.
The Programa Chaka fundamentally works in the prevention of any circumstance that does not allow children or young people to be part of the educational system; one of the most critical aspects is the lack of financial resources of parents, this has a direct and decisive impact on the attendance, permanence and educational success of children and young people, these problems are reflected in the lack of didactic material and little food, etc.
Another factor that influences school failure and dropout by children and young people is the absence of the father or mother and in many cases of both due to emigration to other countries, this has caused the children, girls and young people are easy prey for alcohol, drugs and general crime.

To improve in an integral way the quality of life of children, young people and their families to reduce the situation of poverty in the rural area, working collectively with the beneficiary community.
The main objective is to reduce school dropout and absenteeism in the upper basic level by directly supporting adolescents to improve their quality of life and become role models within their communities.
